Waterproof Running Shoes How to Measuring Your Foot for Accurate Sizing

Wearing the correct size waterproof running shoes is just as important as wearing the correct type of waterproof running shoe. Incorrect sizing can lead to all kinds of foot health problems such blisters, bunions, and damage to the nerves in your foot. It is advised that you double check the size of your foot especially if it has been few years since your last pair. Just like everything else on our bodies our feet change over time.

This process only takes a minute or two and can be done anywhere All you need is some paper, pen or pencil, and a tape measure or ruler.
First, lay a piece of paper on a floor with a flat smooth surface. You may want to tape the paper down to the floor to restrict any movement of the paper. This is one of those safe than sorry moves, because even though this process is fairly quick it can be very up setting if you find yourself repeating this process over and over again due to the movement of movement the paper.

Next sit down and place your foot place your foot solidly on the the piece of paper. Do not place your foot on the paper with your shoes on. It is best to leave your socks on and use socks that you would normally wear with the type shoes you are sizing for. Make sure the leg of the foot that is being measured is leaning marginally forward so that your shin is slightly in front of the ankle.

Grab your pen or pencil and be sure to hold it at upright position not at a angle. Create a outline of your foot by tracing around the foot. Keep the pen or pencil you are outlining with close to your foot to insure a correct size. If you have someone to help you with this part that would be great. Outlining around the back end of the foot can be a little tricky.

After the outline is complete, draw a straight line on the most outer edges on all four sides, all most forming a box. So the furthest point on the toe area draw a line straight line, the furthest point of the heel area draw a line and like wise for either side of your foot.

Use a tape measure or rule to determine the length from the top (most outer part of the toe) to bottom (most outer part on the heel). If you are using a tape measure be sure to hold it tight for and precise reading. Mark to the closest line on the measure, and jot the number down. Now do the same for the width of your foot (measure the furthest end of one side of your foot to the furthest end of the other side of your foot) and remember to write this number down.

Repeat these steps for your other foot, and use the larger of the two as your foot size. This is the size that you will use to determine which shoe size fits your foot. You will have to take this number and convert it to the correct shoe size using the foot conversion chart.

All waterproof running shoes are made differently. Is important to know your size and know which ones run true to size, smaller, or bigger.
