There are many different methods and remedies for removing warts, but when it comes to removal of plantar warts, it can be quite a challenge because these are perhaps the most stubborn of all warts. Plantar warts grow on the soles of the feet and occasionally on the tops of feet and the toes. Because of the pressure involved in walking, these warts can become extremely painful as they are forced to grow inwards. Characteristically they are hard and flat and enveloped by thickened skin. They have a rough surface and it is very easy to spot them as they have well-defined boundaries and typically have a small black center.
Removal of these warts that does not include surgery leaves only over the counter remedies or home remedies as your option. Home remedies could include the use of apple cider vinegar as well as banana peels for example. The banana peel method uses the goodness of the banana to heal the skin as it has nutrient such as tryptophane and potassium. This method involves taking a small amount of the banana peel and applying it to the wart so the peel is in contact with the skin. To hold the peel in place, cover it with a bandage and leave overnight. The only time you will need to remove the peel is when you are taking a bath. The warm water from the bath will soften the plantar wart and then using a pumice stone you can remove any dead skin caused by the healing process of the banana peel. Doing this everyday will eventually remove the plantar wart although some people have reported this method can take several months before the wart disappears.
Apple cider vinegar works very well if it is applied in its purest form and as opposed to a commercial brand you would find in your supermarket. To apply this removal technique, first moisten the surrounding skin of the wart and the wart itself with warm water to prepare the skin and make it supple. Apply a layer of Vaseline just around the wart so that you don’t damage uninfected skin. Soak a cotton wool ball in apple cider vinegar and place it on the wart, cover the area in a bandage and leave over night. Remove the bandage and the cotton wool in the morning and wash the area. Repeat this process every night before you go to bed. Many people have reported that their wart had dropped off after only 5 days of using this method, although this could take longer with a plantar wart giving the skin on the foot is thicker.
When it comes to removal of plantar warts that does not involve painful surgical procedures you should be expected to have patience as it can take much longer without your doctors help. Plantar warts are the most contagious warts and do spread very quickly, so if you are worried that home removal of plantar warts just won’t work fast enough then it is advised to seek medical advice. My advice is to act fast before removing that plantar wart becomes too difficult.
