A research shows that 25% to 30% of the U.S population has Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria also known as Staph. A bacterium usually dwells on the diseased skin or at time in the nose but the infection is not caused by microbes. The most common type of skin infection is Staph, most widespread staph infection is impetigo or boils. Easy treatments like antibiotics are present in the market for these two treatments.
About 25-30% of people in the U.S. are colonized with Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria, commonly known as staph. Colonized people have the bacteria present on their skin or in the nose, but the microbes do not cause an infection. Staph bacteria are among the most common causes of skin infections, such as impetigo or boils (Box 1). Those infections are easily treated with antibiotics, either topical or oral, depending on the severity of the infection.
Main Causes of Staph Infection:
MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) is the most deadly staph bacteria living in the society. It is very strong and is not treatable from antibiotics like methicillin and amoxicillin. 25% of the population in US is suffering from Staph and 1% is diseased with MRSA. The major causes are bloodstream infections, surgical wound infections and pneumonia. Its bacteria are mostly found in health care clinics or hospitals because of many infections existing there. In the past years we have seen more and more patients of MRSA.
The CDC did a research and found following main reasons for spread of
MRSA:
1. Close contact between two skins
2. Cuts on the skin
3. If contact is made with infected items and surfaces
4. Jammed packed living conditions
5. Improper hygienic conditions
6. Usually even pimples lead to MRSA, if you spot pimples that gets worse it is advisable to consult a doctor.
The doctor will treat you with antibiotics if still in a week you pimples do not get better in a week then you should go the doctor again and get yourself properly checked. You doctor will conduct some lab tests and if your test shows you are resisting anti biotic he might change your anti biotic.
MRPHS is treatable but however it tends to return after some time, therefore to delay its return you need to take precautions mentioned below:
Protecting your family against MRSA
1. You can protect them by making them habitual of below mentioned habits.
